Birth Story Circle

"The power of storytelling is this: to bridge the gaps where everything else has crumbled." -Paulo Coelho

There are heaps of wisdom, far more valuable than gold, in every birth story that serve to help us prepare for and launch into our own journey's as parents and to deepen our understanding of life in general. Come join us the first Saturay of every month at Mullen Family Chiropractic from 10-11:30 AM as a new couple/mother from our community comes to share their birth stories and the wisdom they learned along the paths they've traveled. Light snacks and free resources will be available. There is no childcare on-site; however, there is a small area for children to play with supervision by their parent. There are a limited number of chairs at the venue. Please bring your own seating if desired, whether it's a lawn chair, cushion, yoga block, or a blanket.

Dallas and Elizabeth Brabant

"People talk about the exhaustion and they talk about the joy of parenting, but no one told me of the soul deep changes, the trauma you can finally heal and the discovery of untapped power and presence that comes with transitioning to motherhood. As a self proclaimed "science hippy", allow me to share my journey from "why would anyone turn down 21st century cutting edge technology to keep their birth 'safe'" to home-birthing twins in my bathtub 4 years later." -Elizabeth Brabant

Ben and Alisa Cryer

Ben and Alisa are transplants to the Wenatchee valley a little over 5 years ago. They quickly fell in love with Wenatchee’s people and offerings and bought a home here. Ben is professional videographer, entrepreneur/business maverick, and Jesus-follower, while Alisa is a speech-language pathologist and doula and birth assist in training. When they are not working on their 1950’s house, they can likely be found hiking, biking, playing card games, making homemade pizza for their friends, or staring at pictures of their daughter who has just fallen asleep in the next room. The have been married for almost 11 years and are the recently-minted parents of the adorable one-year old Ellie Rae.

Sarah Tuck

Sarah lives in Cashmere with her husband Jared, 10 year old daughter Maya and now 8 month old son Levi, having made the leap from Asheville, NC, where she served as a home birth midwife. After stepping back from midwifery to focus on her family and obtain her Washington state license, life threw her a delightful curveball! After navigating three long years of secondary infertility, Sarah was overjoyed to learn that she was expecting again at Christmas of 2023.

Her pregnancy was relatively smooth sailing, thanks to the guidance of her midwife, Christina Stout. However, on her birthday, at 33 weeks, Sarah experienced a surprise twist when her water broke. The next morning brought an exhilarating and rapid unassisted birth at home, lasting just about 30 minutes! This unexpected adventure turned her views on childbirth upside down.

Mark and Gaby Pamintuan

Hello! We are Mark and Gaby Pamintuan!  We have two boys, Diego (3) and Francisco (1). Mark is a software trainer with a passion for art, music, and dance. Gaby is a stay-at-home mom who enjoys reading, hiking, organizing, and music. Our faith is a big part of our lives and we love to volunteer at our parish youth group as a family! Though our days are busy with our toddlers, we always make room for family walks in the evenings and a daily rosary. “A family that prays together, stays together!” are words that we live by.

Mary-Jo Eddy

I'll be sharing all three of my daughter's birth stories, including Briel's birth from this April. I've had the privilege of having three out of hospital births, with many common threads throughout and also some big differences that don't quite fit the mold of birth as we know it...speaking to the wisdom and design of birth that is universal yet also unique to each woman. Each pregnancy and birth was an embarking on a completely different transformational journey in my life. Come hear how God has shaped my life and family through birth.

Creighton and Madison Wright

Madison and Creighton’s journey into parenthood took an unexpected turn when pregnancy complications led to the early arrival of their baby, who spent two months in the NICU. Those weeks were filled with uncertainty, challenges, and hope as they navigated the world of beeping monitors, tiny wires, and sleepless nights. Through it all, Madison and Creighton leaned on each other, their families, and the incredible NICU team, finding strength they didn’t know they had. Today, they look back on that experience with pride and gratitude. The struggles they faced only deepened their love, resilience, and appreciation for the small victories that now fill their lives with joy.

Whitney Crouch

My name is Whitney (you may know me as Mary-Jo's sister) and I have been privileged and blessed to be the mom of 2 young boys, ages 6 years and 6 months. I love to stay busy cooking, keeping up the house, homeschooling, working part-time at a vet clinic as a veterinary technician, and have a special place in my heart for new moms especially and love being a help to mommas postpartum and taking care of them.  I don't work in the birthing field, but still am a total nerd about all things pregnancy, birth, and the human body in general! I was able to experience births in both hospital and birth center environments and would love to share my birth stories with you all!

Orfil and Chelsea Olmos

With much joy, wisdom, and faith, Chelsi gave birth to their first daughter, Sofia, in their cozy home in Wenatchee this September and are super excited to share all the twists, turns, ups, downs and the support that helped them most throughout the process. As first-time parents, they intentionally studied and realistically prepared for their birth journey, and despite doing the most amazing job preparing, they finished the journey saying, "There was nothing that could have fully prepared us for that. We are so glad we had a birth team of people around us that supported us so well."

Eric and Cara Craw

Hello, we are the Craw's! We have been married for 7 years, and have 3 wild, inquisitive, fantastic children. Eric is basically a Chelan native, having moved to the area when he was four. He now works IT for Lifeline Ambulance, but is often still found doing patient care. I ( Cara) am a stay at home mom and occasionally pick up shifts as an acute care nurse in Brewster. I have dreams of someday going back to school to become an advanced practice  nurse midwife. I've lived in Washington for nearly ten years now and am just as much in love with the snow as I was the first time... We have had numerous miscarriages  on the way to our three children; Zackery (5), Elise (3), and Daniel (8 months) and three very different pregnancies and births. One super speed highly medicalized hospital birth, one calm laid back birth center birth, and one start/stop to turbo speed birth center birth. I feel like I have learned so much about birth and postpartum through these experiences and am looking forward to sharing, including some fun God stories as well.
